Wednesday Night Children’s Program

For children in K through 7th grade

Meets during the school year

Every Wednesday from 7:00 – 8:00 PM

Way of the Wise Proverbs is a book of great advice…and an ominous warning. The advice is to pursue wisdom. The warning is to avoid folly, because foolishness leads to destruction. However, wisdom must be pursued—-it takes effort, discipline, a teachable heart, and instruction. Children will see that the book of Proverbs and other Bible passages contrast the way of the foolish with the way of the wise. Using the illustration of two paths, children learn about the characteristics and destinations of the foolish and the wise, the meaning of the fear of the Lord, the treasure of wisdom, and the only way to enter the way of the wise–through Jesus Christ.

Chubby Bunny – This is a game where each person adds one marshmallow in his or her mouth and then says, “Chubby Bunny.”  When a person can no longer say “Chubby Bunny” clearly, he is out of the game.  Evan was the winner of this game.

Bubble Gum Blow Up – each person begins with a wrapped piece of bubble gum.  The first to blow a bubble wins.  We had a tie between Katie and Jared.

couple20071026Hello, my name is Jacob Elwart.  I recently was called to be the pastor of Ambassador Baptist Church, and I would like to invite you to join our church on Sunday mornings at 11 AM for an exciting study through the book of Joshua.  The book of Joshua is a history of God leading His people to obey His Word by eliminating sin so that He can give to them what He had promised, and I think that you will find as we study this great book that our God is worthy to be praised.  He is worthy because of His great works on behalf of His people, and because of His great Word that He has left with us, namely, the Bible, which shows us who He is, what He has done, and what He demands of us.  So join us on Sunday mornings at 11 AM.

Have you ever come upon the scene of an accident, and had to check to see if a person was alive?  It’s pretty easy when it comes to checking for physical life. You just have to know how to check for a pulse.  But when it comes to spiritual life, how can you check to see if a person is spiritually alive?  On Sunday evenings at 6 PM we will be studying through the book of 1 John, where we are discovering how to check our spiritual pulse.  The apostle John shows us that a right standing before God is evident by what a person believes, whether or not a person obeys, and whether that obedience is done in love.  John makes clear distinctions between those who are of God and those who are of the devil.  So through his teaching, we find that we can have assurance about our relationship with God.  You won’t want to miss this exciting series.

…………………………………………………………………………………

I hope that you will join us as we worship God together.  If I can answer any questions, please contact me.
