family20080323Jacob Elwart was born and raised in SE Michigan.  He was saved as a young boy, when he recognized the severity of his sin.  When God called him to salvation, he turned from his sin and put his faith in Christ as the only hope of his salvation.  He graduated from Calvary Christian Academy in Ypsilanti in 1994, and then from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2003 with a degree in Accounting.  After college, he pursued a Master of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and graduated in May, 2009.   Jacob accepted the call to be the pastor at Ambassador on June 7, 2009.

His wife Jennifer was born and raised in Waterloo, IA.  She graduated from Walnut Ridge Baptist Academy in 1990.  In 1994 she graduated with a elementary education degree from Bob Jones University.  Shortly after graduating she began teaching at Inter-City Baptist School.  It was at Inter-City Baptist Church that Jacob and Jennifer met in 1997.  They were married in 1999.  Jennifer now stays at home to care for their three children, Jonathan (9 years old), Julia (7), and Josie (4).

Some of Jacob’s favorite pastimes include studying the Scriptures, spending time with family, and playing and watching sports.  His goal at Ambassador is to build up the church in its most holy faith so that Christ can be praised as people are being saved, and are being changed to be more like Christ.
